A Big Thank You to Our Families for Supporting Reading

Last Thursday, it was wonderful to welcome so many parents and carers into school to spend time reading with their children. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. There was a fantastic atmosphere around the school, and it was lovely to see children sharing books and enjoying reading alongside their families.

Reading is one of the most important skills a child can develop, and even just a few minutes of reading together each day can make a huge difference. Regular reading helps children build vocabulary, improve fluency, develop comprehension skills and foster a lifelong love of books. Most importantly, reading with your child creates valuable opportunities to talk, learn and enjoy stories together.
We would also like to thank all the families who supported our recent Roving Bookfair, which was a tremendous success. Access to books at home plays a vital role in developing confident and enthusiastic readers. Children who are surrounded by books and encouraged to read regularly are more likely to enjoy reading and achieve success across all areas of the curriculum.

Thanks to your incredible support, we raised over £600 through parent purchases and secured nearly £1,000 worth of books for our Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) children. In addition, the school earned approximately £300 worth of free books, which will be used to further enrich our school library and reward shop.

Your support helps us continue to provide high-quality reading opportunities for all children, and we are extremely grateful. Together, we can inspire a love of reading that will benefit our children for years to come.
