Over the last couple of weeks, we have been delighted to welcome a special speaker from St Philip’s Centre into school. The children thoroughly enjoyed the sessions and were highly engaged throughout, demonstrating excellent listening skills and thoughtful contributions to discussions.

During the workshops, pupils explored what it means to be British and reflected on what makes our community such a special place to live, learn and grow. They discussed the importance of respecting others, celebrating diversity and recognising the different cultures, beliefs and experiences that make up modern Britain.

The sessions also provided an opportunity for children to revisit and deepen their understanding of the British Values. Pupils confidently recalled our core values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs, making clear links to their own lives both in school and beyond. It was fantastic to hear children sharing examples of how these values help us to create a safe, inclusive and supportive school community.

We would like to thank our visitor from St Philip’s Centre for delivering such informative and engaging sessions. The experiences provided our pupils with valuable opportunities to reflect on their role within the wider community and to celebrate the diversity that makes our school and country such wonderful places to be.
