Year 6 Trip

On Tuesday, our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic trip to Beacon Hill, and it proved to be a memorable experience for all involved. From the moment we arrived, the children demonstrated a wonderfully positive attitude and a real sense of determination.
One of the highlights of the day was the climb to the highest point in Leicestershire. Despite the challenge, every child completed the walk with enthusiasm and, impressively, without any complaints. Their resilience and perseverance were particularly evident, especially as we reached the top, where we were met with strong winds. Fortunately, the weather held off throughout the day, allowing us to enjoy all of our planned activities without disruption.
After the climb, the children had the opportunity to relax and enjoy a picnic together on blankets. This provided a lovely moment for them to socialise, reflect on their achievement and take in the beautiful surroundings. The pupils were also excited to spot some of the wildlife at Beacon Hill, including Highland cows and alpacas, which added an extra element of interest and enjoyment to the day.
The standout activity for many was the den building session in the woods. Working collaboratively in groups, the children used natural materials to construct impressive shelters, demonstrating teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills. The activity culminated in a lively and good-natured tug of war between Mr Deacon’s group and Mrs Ibrahim’s group, which brought lots of laughter and excitement.
Throughout the trip, the children represented the school exceptionally well. Their behaviour was exemplary, and they showed respect for each other, staff and the environment. It was a pleasure to see them so engaged, enthusiastic and supportive of one another.
Overall, the children had a wonderful time at Beacon Hill, creating lasting memories and strengthening friendships. It was a highly enjoyable day, and we are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves.
