Last week, we were delighted to welcome Shakil from the Breck Foundation to school to deliver a special assembly on staying safe online. The Breck Foundation is a charity set up by a mum whose son died as a result of online grooming

The children learned about the important work of the charity and how it was established following the tragic story of Breck Bednar. The assembly also highlighted how Breck’s mum continues to work closely with the charity, helping to educate young people about online safety and empowering them to make safe choices when using the internet.

The session encouraged pupils to think carefully about their online activity, the importance of protecting personal information, and what to do if something online makes them feel uncomfortable or worried. It was a heartwarming and thought-provoking assembly that delivered a powerful message in a sensitive and age-appropriate way.

We would like to thank the Breck Foundation for taking the time to visit our school and for helping our children develop the knowledge and confidence they need to stay safe in the digital world.
