Year 5's inspiring visit to Leicester Museum and Art Gallery

Last week, our Year 5 students had the incredible opportunity to visit the Leicester Museum and Art Gallery to explore the captivating artwork of Satta Hashem. Known for his vibrant and expressive style, Hashem’s work in the gallery beautifully blends contemporary themes with traditional techniques, creating a mesmerising visual experience that left our students in awe.
During the visit, Joad (Juju) from 5 Birch was so moved by the artwork that she wrote a heartfelt message in Arabic to the artist in the museum’s record book. In a wonderful twist of fate, Satta Hashem himself visited the museum shortly after and read Juju’s touching message. Deeply impressed and moved by her words, he decided to respond in a truly special way.
Satta Hashem wrote a personal postcard and created a unique drawing for Juju. To make this moment even more memorable, a representative visited Uplands Junior LEAD to present Juju with these precious gifts, along with a handwritten message for the entire school.
This extraordinary exchange highlights the profound impact that art can have on individuals and the beautiful connections it can foster. We are incredibly proud of Juju for her heartfelt expression and grateful to Satta Hashem for his generous and inspiring response.
