GOVILON – 3 DAY / 2 NIGHT RESIDENTIAL
Govilon Learning and Activity Centre based in the Brecon Beacons.
We are delighted to announce that we will once again be attending Govilon as our residential visit. The residential takes place from Friday 26th June 2020 to Sunday 28th June 2020. The cost of the trip is £140. The visit is open to children in year 5 and 6.
The children will be taking part in the following programme of activities. Although we aim to deliver on these activities, the children’s safety is our (and Govilons) priority. Activities may be changed at last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. All activities are completed in the natural environments.
Day 1 –
On Friday, children will need to be in school for 8.15am to ensure that they are prepared for the residential. Being at school early, will allow us time to pack the coach in order to depart on time (9am). Children will then depart for Govilon (stopping on the way for half an hour). Once at Govilon, we will be greeted by the staff at Govilon and meet in the dining area. After lunch, children will have the opportunity to unpack and then start their activities. Children will then take part in team building challenges before experiencing a fantastic 3 course meal. After their stomach are full the children will take part in their 2nd activity – village walk. Upon returning, children will then have a chance to relax, have a drink and go to bed at a reasonable hour (hopefully).
Day 2 –
Children start with breakfast. They have the opportunity to have a cooked breakfast and/or cereals before getting ready for the days activities (Caving & Gorge Walking). A packed lunch is eaten out and provided by Govilon. At the end of the day, children will return to the main site for dinner and an evening of team competition / quizzes before getting a good night sleep.
Day 3 –
Rise an shine for the day of departure. Breakfast to start before ensuring everything is packed and ready for departure. We then travel to one of the Welsh hills to start our final activity, hillwalking. Children will walk at a steady pace to the top for (Hopefully) a fantastic view of the surrounding area. After a short break, the children will descend back to the minibus and return to base for lunch. One final check of site and we say goodbye to the staff at Govilon and depart for Uplands.
